"where did the other Mohn go?"

Hello. Eva, here. I came out to NYC to be the production assistant for a puppet show happening this weekend for the Pope when he comes to Yankee stadium. no joke. for those of you that know me, you may know that i like to kid around, laugh at others expense, tell jokes and generally jest, but this is no joke. That's what I am doing. ok ok ok...so that's not EXACTLY why I came out here, but since the opportunity came up I felt i had to take it.

what else? well, today I took the subway, didn't make much money and spent a lot. So, I guess you can say all is as it can be expected.

two major great things since I got here:

Jens Lekman show at Webster Hall

Ballet Class with accompanist Jerome Begin

oh, one more major great thing:

Kai Kai Thai less than 13 steps from my front stoop...major great.

so what am I really doing here? ah ha! now your curious.....

The Cha Cha Lounge.

Should you find yourself in Seattle on a drippy Sunday night go to The Cha Cha Lounge...somewhere in the vicinity of Pine and Pike. It's so green here. It smells like rainy freshly mowed lawn.

We played to a very full room last night and was divine! A loving audience and finally all of the songs are in my hand's muscle memory. It's important to me that I do justice to this music. The flutters in my stomach are constant. Touring is a good thing to do. I highly recommend it for anyone who is comfortable with the flutters, uncertainty and road weariness. You know the tired purr deep in your gutty-works when you're content to be where you are because there is no where else to be? That's how I'm humming right now.

Go listen to some of Chris's new songs...I need to do the same and commit them to memory.

Big Sky.

A point just made as we all sit here having a laptop party at Wild Joe's coffee shop in Bozeman, MT: Tori Amos grinds some serious bench. Sexy? Discuss.

Last night as we closed in on our 11th hour and 535th mile in the van en route to our venue, The Filling Station, we were suddenly inside a shaken snow globe. A few lone flakes became swirling snow clouds. Eyes playing tricks, I felt the illusion of too much speed even though I'd let off the gas and was crawling along at 35 mph on I-90.

It's a heart pounding experience to imagine sending a van full of beloved band mates careening off a cliff (which in the daylight was more of a ditch but in my imagination I was Toonces the Driving Cat). I was also fighting the impulse to pull over and wait it out as semi's roared past seemingly un-fazed by the wintery mix. It's point of pride that as the lone girl I feel the need to push through and be a champ. yeah. I let out a few gawddammits the flakes let up and we arrived intact.

Day 3 of 30. I'm feeling good. Photos soon...stuck without a wire of fire.

Touring...

The North Dakota landscape reminds me of beige plush shag carpeting. Drag sneaker clad feet across it and you could make lightning.

I'm (Linnea) on tour with The Chris Koza Band. Eva's moved to NYC for the time being. Annika and Lee, what are you up to? Our little pot is simmering back in Minnesota with new songs in the can and new ideas being tossed back and forth over voicemail. Everything feels insanely transient. I like it. In the van, I just ate a peanut butter, jelly and cheez-it sandwich. Try it. Fully hydrogenated.

Tonight The Chris Koza band will play in Bozeman, MT. Gone 'til May...I'm gonna write about it.

Rawnestly Jawesome!

the reason english is doomed as a language is because you can just willy-nilly create words out of other words to make new words that mean nothing.

Take for example rawnestly jawesome. It's raw honesty meets jolly awesomeness. And this combination abomination was just born of the guitar take Eva did on the newest Coach jam working titled 'Casino'. Somehow the feedback brought alive by her Silvertone amp made sweet love to LEe's lead patch in cascading waves of auditory passion. (The previous sentence is another example of a person like me murdering the english language with effusive bullshit)

Her guitar take was rawnestly jawesome though. Truly.

Thursday

alright alright alright. I get it. it's funny and all. the first day of spring and a snow storm. yep, God, that's funny. you are one funny ruler of everything. and since you're the damn ruler of everything I'm glad that you gave me a good sense of humor so I can laugh at this bullshit.

I actually love it.

I love it all.

I even laugh when I poke myself in the eye because I've had this same body my whole life and I still manage to put my own finger in my eye sometimes. and that is funny.

wish us luck, friends, we're getting together to decide the future of Coach this weekend. keep us in your blog thoughts and blog prayers. maybe we too will rise on the third day into a new life...

peace be with you...(and also with you)
